Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 28, 1981.

The warms show the Sauer/Sûre river, the border between Germany and Luxembourg, and the bridge that crosses the river in the municipality. The grape vine indicates the importance of viticulture for the municipality. The municipality has four villages, which is symbolised by the chief and the four bunches of grapes.

Langsur was a longtime possession of the St. Eucharius Abbey in St. Matthias near Trier. This sis symbolised by a crosier for the Abbot and an axe as symbol of St. Matthew (Matthias).
