HOLLINGSTEDT
State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Dithmarschen
Amt : Amt Kirchspielslandgemeinde Eider (until 2008 Amt Kirchspielslandgemeinde Hennstedt)
German | In Gold unter einem schmalen blauen Wellenbalken ein schwarzer Spaten zwischen zwei grünen über Kreuz gestellten belaubten Eichenästen. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 11, 2002.
The arms are based on the oldest seal of the local community, which is several hundred years old. The wavy blue bar symbolises the Eider and Wallener Au rivers that run through the municipality. The gold symbolises the (former) importance of agriculture. The oak branches symbolise the Hollingstedter Gehölz, a production forest, which was unique for the region. The spade symbolises the peat mining in historical times in the village.
