===Origin/meaning===Escut caironat: de gules, una galera contornada de 4 cavalls amb el conductor al pescant d'argent, acompanyada en cap d'una torre d'or oberta. Per timbre una corona mural de vila.
The arms were granted on October 18, 1983.
The arms are canting; they show a "galera" (a covered wagon in Catalan). The tower above reminds that the town belonged to the council of Tortosa, which arms are canting too (they show a "torre", a tower).
