AUENSTEIN

Canton : Aargau

Wappen von Auenstein

Official blazon

Gespalten von Rot mit zwei pfahlweise gestellten weissen Rosen mit gelben Butzen und grünen Kelchblättern und von Weiss.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 28, 1964.

The arms are derived from the medieval arms of the Lords of Gauenstein/Göwenstein, the old name of the village.

from 1804-1964 the village used arms showing in blue a mountain and a pine tree on a green base. As these arms were not very specific to the village new arms were deemed necessary and the new arms were designed.
