Origin/meaning

Woltzeten is situated in the moors, with many small lakes and rivers. The wavy bend symbolises this. The cross symbolises the monastery which was built between 1509 and 1529. It was abolished in 1610.

Literature: Leiner, K. : Panorama Norden. Norden, 1972.
