Origin/meaning
Harburg was in the 13th century part of a large imperial estate, and the oldest known seal, dating from the late 13th century, thus shows the imperial eagle. All later seals and images have shown the eagle and the arms thus have not changed since. Only the colour of the field has sometimes been changed to silver instead of gold.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes; Hupp, O: Kaffee Hag albums, 1920s
