Official blazon

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a white vertical rectangle edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border the bust of a blue Aztec warrior affronté wearing a green, black and blue serpent headdress and a green and white breast plate. Attached above a blue scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed “AZUSA” in black letters. Attached below a blue scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed “AZTECS” in black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Celeste an Aztec warrior head regaled in serpent headdress and breast plate Argent. Attached below the shield a Black scroll inscribed “AZUSA HIGH SCHOOL AZTECS” in Silver letters.

Origin/meaning

Light blue, black and white are the school colors. The Aztec Warrior is the School Mascot and reflects the School’s Location as a site of ancient early Americans and descendants of the Aztec Civilization.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved on 25 September 1997.
