Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted on September 26, 1996.
The arms are much older than 1996, as they were probably granted (and definitely used) in the 16th century. All images have shown the same composition of the three scallops. These are derived from the arms of the medieval Lords of Weitenstein (the name of the town until 1918).
