These arms have been officially granted on 14th January 1985.

The scales and the flaming sword are the attributes of St. Michael, the patron saint of the village. Vila-sana, formerly named Utxafava, belonged until 1935 to [[Castellnou de Seana]], that was part of the barony of Bellpuig, ruled by the Anglesolas, whose arms (dantelly Or and Sable) are shown at the base of the arms.
