Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat în bandă, cu un brâu undat, de argint. În partea superioară, în stânga, în câmp albastru, se află o carte deschisă, de argint. În vârful scutului, în dreapta, în câmp roșu, se află un grănicer năsăudean, de argint, cu arma la picior, văzut din față; grănicerul este îmbrăcat cu suman, având pe cap o pălărie cu boruri rotunde și în picioare purtând opinci. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu 3 turnuri crenelate.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 2, 2012.
The book signifies the large number of educational institutes in the city of Năsăud.
The Năsăud border guard symbolizes the old Romanian border guards from Năsăud County, as well as the fact that the locality was recognized as the residence of the Năsăud Border District in the 18th century.
The wavy bend represents the Someș river.
The mural crown with 3 crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
