NO 802 SQUADRON, FAA

History: First formed in 1933 as a Fleet Fighter Squadron with Hawker Nimrod Aircraft.

Official blazon
English Blue; from water barry wavy of six white and blue a dexter arm embowed gold the hand grasping a spear fesswise white winged gold.

Motto: Primus ferire

Origin/meaning

The Badge allude to the Hawker Nimrod Aircraft with which the Squadron first was equipped. Nimrod was the famous hunter with a spear descibed in Genesis 10 v 9. The Latin Motto traslates as "The first to strike". The Badge was approved in 1937.
