The previous coat of arms of the Diocese of Bridgetown depicts a green field with a heraldic dolphin. The dolphin is from the armorial bearings of [[Barbados]] where it appears as one of the figures supporting the shield. The trident head is an image borrowed from the flag of Barbados. A similar “broken” trident appears on the flag missing it’s lower part to symbolize a break with its colonial past.

I have no idea when the new arms above were adopted.

The previous coat of arms of the Diocese of Bridgetown depicts a green field with a heraldic dolphin.
