English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 30, 1993.
The tower is the medieval customs tower, around which the village has developed. The customs were later replaced to Heiligenstadt. The red and silver are the colours of the State of Mainz, as well as the Eichsfeld Region. The area is situated in the Eichsfeld and was historically part of Mainz. The wheel is also the wheel of Mainz and the oak leaves refer to the Eichsfeld (Eiche=oak).
