KORB
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Rems-Murr Kreis (until 1973 Waiblingen)
Additions: 1972 Kleinheppach
German | In gespaltenem Schild vorne in Gold eine blaue Traube, hinten in Blau ein goldener Bienenkorb. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 15, 1953.
The arms show a bunch of grapes and a beehive. The grapes are a symbol for the importance of viticulture for the area. The oldest known seal of Korb dates from the late 17th century and shows only the letter K. In the late 19th century the grapes appear on the local seals, first alone, later placed in a shield. To distinguish the arms from many other arms with grapes, the beehive (Bienenkorb) was added as a canting symbol.
