Official blazon
D'argento cappato d'azzurro: nel 1° alla Sacra Famiglia d'oro; nel 2° all' arcangelo Raffaele d'oro tenente una croce astile dello stesso; nel 3° alla croce greca, detta "di San Geminiano", d'oro.
Origin/meaning
The arms show an image of a Holy Family (taken from a terracotta bas-relief of the 18th century) which refers to the efforts made over the years by the bishop in the field of family pastoral care. The golden Archangel Raphael is a symbol for the Diocese of Parma, a medieval work placed at the top of the bell tower of Parma Cathedral.
In the lower part, in the center, stands the cross of San Geminiano, first bishop of Modena, a reference to Modena, from which the Bishop of Parma comes.
The colors are the colours of both cities of Modena and Parma.
The motto "In nomine Domini" means "In the name of the Lord".
The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop by instruction of the Holy See, of March 1969, confirmed in March 2001.
