JOHN EDWARD TAYLOR
Born: November 15, 1914
Deceased: September 9, 1976
Bishop of Stockholm, 1962-1976
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The first and fourth quarter show the arms of the diocese of Stockholm, see there.
The second and third quarter are derived from the Scottish Clan Cameron of Lochiel, which showed a shield barry of red and gold. The father of the bishop was named Campbell and to represent this, the barry shield was taken. The eagle was added as a symbol of St. John the Evangelist, the patron saint of the bishop.
The motto means He sent me to preach the gospel.
The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop.
