Origin/meaning
A field coloured as the earth of Holy Ganges shows the holy bird Garur Berunda. Supporters are chimaeres from Indian sagas, the elephant-headed tiger, called Satvas or Yali.
The arms are taken as part of the arms of the present State of Karnataka.
