History: Following the Russian Revolution of 1905 all Universities in the Russian Empire was closed. Some Russian Students then went on to study abroad amongst other in Germany. Where they learned of the German Student Associations. Which some of them brought back to Russia and in 1907 the Neo-Ruthenia was founded in St Petersburg, following the fall of the Russian Empire the Neo-Ruthenia was disbanded in 1917. Most of its members fell in World War I or the Russian Civil War.
