Origin/meaning
The oldest arms of the city date from the early 18th century, as the arms show the symbol of the Pototskyi family, who acquired the town in 1704. These arms were used until 1920, when the town became part of Poland.
During the Polish period, from 1920-1939, the town used the arms below, which are practically identical to the older arms.
