Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 28, 1947.
The arms show an oak tree, taken from the old seal of the Oppunda hundred, to which the area historically belonged. The crosier refers to the medieval Julita Cistercian monastery.
Literature: Nevéus and de Waern, 1992
