Rot-gold schräglinks geteilt; oben ein goldener Ring mit blauem Stein, unten gekreuzte blaue Schlägel und Eisen.
Origin/meaning
The arms show a ring and miner's tools. The ring is taken from the arms of the Lords von Waldenburg zu Wolkenstein, who granted the city rights in 1407. During the mid 20th century the tools were added to symbolize the mining in the area. Until that thime the proper arms only showed the ring, but the city used larger armorial bearings with a mural crown and the miner's tools as a crest, see image below.
