BOULAIDE
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 3, 1987.
The upper part shows three pointed hunting thorns (chausse-trappes), a canting symbol of the Trappe family, who were for a long time Lords of Losange, now part of the municipality of Boulaide.
The wavy bar symbolises the Sûre river that runs through the municipality.
The base of the arms shows a rose, derived from the arms of the Busleyden family, who played a major role in the local history and also held several positions in other parts of Luxembourg (such as alderman of Arlon, now in Belgium).
