Country: Germany State: Niedersachsen District (Kreis): Aurich (until 1977 Norden) Incorporated into:
|
German | In Blau aus einem silbernen Dreiberg wachsend ein goldener Adler. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms show an eagle derived from the arms of the Allena family, who played a major role in the history of Cirkwehrum, coming from a hill as a canting symbol (Wehr=mound). Folkmar Allena owned a castle in Cirkwehrum, which was burned in 1379 and finally destroyed in 1436.
