Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 20, 1971.
The arms are the arms of the last Lords of Grand-Rechain. The main design of the arms was created in the 15th century when Jean de Coudhem married Hélène van Woestenraedt. The swan is taken from the old Woestenraedt arms, the antlers from the Coudhem family. The family acquired the village in 1648 and ruled until the end of the 18th century, but held possions until the 19th century. In 1744 the crown and supporters were added when Philippe-Joseph-Dieudonné de Woestenraedt received the title of Count.
