BARNIM (BAR)

State:Brandenburg
Additions:1993 Bernau, Eberswalde

Wappen von Barnim (kreis)/Arms (crest) of Barnim (kreis)
Official blazon
German

Geviert von Silber und Rot; oben ein wachsender, golden bewehrter Adler in verwechselten Farben mit goldenen Kleestengeln auf den Flügeln.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 17, 1995.

The arms combine the arms of the historical districts of Oberbarnim and Niederbarnim, which existed until 1952. Both used in the upper half a demi-eagle for Brandenburg above a silver or red field. The colours are those of Brandenburg.
