HINTERWEIDENTHAL
State: Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis): Südwestpfalz
Verbandsgemeinde: Verbandsgemeinde Hauenstein
German |
Geteilt und oben gespalten, oben rechts von Silber und Blau geweckt, oben links in Rot ein silberner Adler, unten in Gold ein grüner Weidenbaum. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 16, 1960.
The upper half shows the silver eagle in red from the Counts of Dahn and the diamonds of the Wittelsbache family (see Bayern), Dukes of the Pfalz, who acquired the village in 1603 from the Counts of Dahn. The lower half shows a canting willow (Weide).
The only known historical seal of the village is known since 1743 and only shows the letter W.
