ESSENRODE

State:Niedersachsen
District (Kreis):Helmstedt
Incorporated into: 1972 Lehre

Wappen von Essenrode/Arms (crest) of Essenrode
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 13, 1979.

The demi-eagle is taken from the arms of the Von Garssenbüttel family, who lived in the village until 1625.

The other half refers to the agricultural character of the village (green) as well as the forests (oak leaf).
