Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ?-?-1935.

The typical star in the upper part is the Hagals-rune, a old-Germanic symbol referring to the Asen (Germanic gods), and thus used as a canting symbol. The base shows an arm with broken chains, which refer to the local legend about the giant Hinnark von Asendorf.
