Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 18, 1994.

The red wolf is the symbol of the State of Passau, as the area historically belonged to the State of Passau.

The crosier is the symbol of St. Aegidius, the local patron saint, as well as the symbol for the Engelszell monastery, to which the local parish belonged.
