ELKENROTH
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Altenkirchen
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Gebhardshain
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1987.
The three diamonds are derived from the medieval Lords of Gebhardshain, who had several possessions in the area. The chief symbolises the local castle, owned by the Von Gevertzhagen family since 1220. The rose is the symbol of St. Elisabeth, patron saint of the village.
