Administrative division
Sri Lanka is divided into nine provinces and twenty-five districts.
Heraldry of Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka does not have a heraldic tradition and I have no information on current use of any coats of arms in the country.
Historical arms
During the Dutch colonial times, arms were assigned to the different towns at the time. Arms are known for the following towns:
- Batticaloa
- Chilauw (Chilaw)
- Colombo
- Galle
- Jaffna
- Kalpitiya
- Koddiyar
- Mannar
- Matara
- Negombo
- Trincomalee
