ASCHAU IM CHIEMGAU

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Rosenheim
Additions : 1965 Hohenaschau, Niederaschau; 1978 Sachrang

Wappen von Aschau im Chiemgau

Official blazon

In Silber auf der mittleren Kuppe eines dreiteiligen blauen Felsenberges eine grüne Esche.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 2, 1967 and are identical to the former arms of Niederaschau.

The arms show a canting ash tree (Esche) on a mountain. The tree is derived from the arms of the Lords of Aschau, which are known from 1265-1326.
