FERNÃO

State : São Paulo

Arms (crest) of Fernão

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 8, 1998.

The chevron is derived from the arms of Captain Manoel Salustiano Cavalcanti, founder of the village. The cross in the point is taken from the arms of Colonel Eduardo de Souza Porto, owner of the lands where the city stands now. The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of St. Mary, patron saint of the city.

The shield is flanked by coffee and oranges, the main crops in the region.
