Wappen von Bülstringen

Official blazon

(de) Von Gold und Blau durch einen geschrägten Schräglinksbalken in verwechselten Farben geteilt, oben rechts ein linksgewendeter blauer Kuhkopf, links unten eine goldene Hellebarde.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 10, 1996.

The arms refer to a local dispute from the 17th century between Bülstringen and the citizens of Neuhaldensleben. The latter normally kept their animals near the village and on the fields of Bülstringen, which caused quite some damage. It came to a small battle, in which the citizens of Neuhaldensleben inhured and killed several villagers. The village went to court and the citizens and mayor of Neuhaldensleben were found guilty. Another result was that the villagers had now the grazing rights to the areas.

The arms show a bull's head for the cattle and a hallbard for the battle. The bends refer to the local Mordgraben ('Murder-ditch') and Triftweg ('Shepherds-lane') roads near the village.
