VERŽEJ

Arms of Veržej

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on May 16, 2000.

The arms show a silver carp above some golden waves and in the chief a rope. The fish is the historical symbol of the town, which has been used for several centuries. The rope, a symbol for the fishing nets, was added in 2000. At the time the fish was also better defined as a carp.

Arms of Veržej

The arms by Kobel (1954)
