Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 2, 2007.

The community consists of two towns, the crown refers to St. Mary, the patron and namesake of the community of Marija and the fleurs-de-lis represent the other town - Donji Mihaljevec. The lace clapper represents the lacework for which the region is famous.

Before 2007 the municipality used the arms below, which were not officially granted.
