The red eagle head refers to the eagle of [[Brandenburg]] and thus to the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, to whom the village belonged for a long period of time. The black imperial eagle refers to the Imperial city of [[Rothenburg ob der Tauber]], which had some possessions in the municipality.
