Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 12, 2007.
The watchtower is a monument from the middle of the 17th century in the village of Balanovka, a symbol for the everlasting struggle against the invaders, a preserved part of the fortifications on the southern borders of Bratslav region.
The sun is one of the first recorded heraldic signs of Podylia, known since the beginning of the XV century.
The cross is the oldest historical heraldic sign of Bratslavshchina (Eastern Podilya), in which the territory of the Bershad district was for a long time.
