Origin/meaning
The Saltire is form the Flag of the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Fortification is the Fort of San Juan o Castillo (constructed 1640-1643). The Seven Dogs Heads alludes to the Seven Canary Islands and the Brigade "Canarias" XVI which the Battalion supports. The Coat of Arms was approved on 13 October 1995.
