Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 16, 1984.

The trees refer to the many forests in the municipality, the flower to the Hairy Alpenrose (Rhododendron hirsutum) a typical plant for the local mountains.

The blue wavy bar symbolises the Dambach river. The watermill wheel refers to the former smithy in Dambach, which was powered by a watermill.
