The previous coat of arms of the Diocese of Bridgetown depicts a green field with a heraldic dolphin. The dolphin is from the armorial bearings of [[Barbados]] where it appears as one of the figures supporting the shield. The trident head is an image borrowed from the flag of Barbados. A similar “broken” trident appears on the flag missing it’s lower part to symbolize a break with its colonial past. | |||

Origin/meaning
I have no idea when the new arms above were adopted.
The previous coat of arms of the Diocese of Bridgetown depicts a green field with a heraldic dolphin. The dolphin is from the armorial bearings of Barbados where it appears as one of the figures supporting the shield. The trident head is an image borrowed from the flag of Barbados.
