The arms show in the upper half the Steinhöfel Castle. The lower half shows the merger of the 4 municipalities in 2003 by the four wheatears. The bordure symbolises the 12 villages in the municipality and the green the agricultural character of the area.

The base of the arms is canting, a stone-hill. The lion rising from the hill is taken from the arms of the Von Wulffen family and the small shield shows the arms of the Von Massow family. Both families owned the Steinhöfel estate during the centuries.
