The crest of the late Prince Consort, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, with a scroll below inscribed with his motto "Treu und Fest" (Faithful and Firm). in gilt.
Origin/meaning
The badge symbolises Prince Albert's origin as a Prince of Saxony Coburg and Gotha. The Regiment provided escort to the Prince from Dover to Cambridge when he came to marry Queen Victoria in 1840.
