CASTELLCIR

Region: Catalonia
Province: Barcelona

Escudo de Castellcir/Arms (crest) of Castellcir
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat: d'or, un castell obert d'atzur; bordura de vuit peces d'atzur. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 28, 1984.

The arms are the ones of the Castellcir family, the landlords of the village. They are canting: they show a "castell" (Catalan for "castle"). Castellcir has an ancient castle on a rock, named Castell de la Popa, built in the 10th century.
