Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 5, 1948. The Axe is from the Seal of the Parish of Rättvik, from which Boda was formed.
The Crescent is the Metallurgical sign for Silver, symbolising the now defunct Silver Mines in the Area. The indented partition symbolises the Styggforsen Waterfall.
