BILDERLAHE

State:Niedersachsen
District (Kreis):Goslar (until 1974 Hildesheim)
Incorporated into: 1974 Seesen

Wappen von Bilderlahe/Arms (crest) of Bilderlahe
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The origin and meaning of the wings is not clear; they are derived from the seal of the former Amt Bilderlahe of the Kingdom of Hannover. The bend shows is derived from the arms of the Lords of Wohldenberg, who built the castle Wohldenstein near the village in 1295.

Literature: Söding, 1966
