Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 15, 1952.

The arms show the arms of the Lords of Saarbrücken (black cross in gold), who received the village in loan of the Archbishops of Trier from 1345-1400. The escutcheon shows the arms of the State of Trier.
