CORNAY

Département: Ardennes

Blason de Cornay/Arms (crest) of Cornay
Official blazon
French

Parti: au 1er burelé d'or et de gueules de douze pièces, au 2e d'argent au lion d'azur armé, lampassé et couronné de gueules.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on May 23, 2001.

The half with the golden end red bars is taken from the arms of the Hand-Grandpré family, lords of the village in the 13th century. The blue lion is taken from the arms of the De Pouilly family, lords of the village from 1508-1789 and still living in the local castle.
