Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 28, 2005.
The arms are based on the previous arms, see below, with the shield division now in 12 parts, one pair of red and silver for each of the former municipalities that merged in 2003 and 2004. The star is now also shown as a compass rose.
The previous arms (now used as village arms) were granted on ?
The star indicates that the village is known since 1945 as a junction for rail, road and especially air traffic (Berlin airport). The double star, reminiscent of a compass rose, is intended to symbolize this function as a traffic connection in all directions. The red and white are the colours of Brandenburg.
