JOHANNES MARIA MICHAEL HOLTERMAN
Born: November 1, 1906
Deceased: October 22, 1988
Apostolic Vicar of Curaçao, 1956-1958; Titular Bishop of Vagada
Bishop of Willemstad, 1958-1973
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The silver cross in blue is the arms of the city of Zwolle, where he was born. The six stars refer to the six islands in the diocese, comprising the Netherlands Antilles. The inescutcheon shows the arms of the Dominicans, to which he belonged.
The motto means 'many in one body', and refer to his aim to have more lay people active in the church.
